Neighborhood Day Tomorrow! (May 15th)

Tomorrow is Neighborhood Day in Arlington.  Ashton Heights is holding its traditional yard sale day -- attached to this post is a word document with a map of yard sales tomorrow and a spreadsheet with addresses and information on each yard sale.

Other neighborhoods have events tomorrow too - our neighbors in Lyon Park will be holding the 86th Annual Lyon Park Spring Fair.

REMINDER: Ashton Heights' Neighborhood Day Event - Yard Sale - Is Coming

Arlington's 14th annual Neighborhood Day is scheduled for Saturday, May 15, 2010 — it will be here before you know it!

It's always a great day filled with lots of fun things to do — fitness fairs, community park cleanups, the Animal Welfare League's Walk for the Animals, and, my personal favorite, the annual AHCA yard sale. It's the perfect time to do a little spring cleaning and earn some money — or get something for a great price! The AHCA yard sale runs from 8:00 am – noon, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the rest of the day's festivities.

Update on the Website

Be sure to use the feedback form or send me an email at rstanner AT gmail DOT com if you have any issues with the website.

I am the only "webmaster" for the site  right now so I am trying to check it once a day.  If you're interested in helping out with running the site please let me know.  It's not much work -- we just need to keep an eye on it.  A few other notes:

2010 Arlington County Neighborhood Tree Giveaway

American Sycamore

One of the great Arlington traditions is our neighborhood tree giveaway -- over the past few years Ashton Heights neighbors have planted HUNDREDS of trees to help make up for those lost to development, weather, and drought.  Arlington County Parks and Natural Resources Division is again promoting the greening of the community’s neighborhoods and enhancement of Arlington’s tree canopy through the distribution of trees for this year’s annual County Neighborhood Day celebration. These small trees are approximately 3–5 feet in height and come in one or two-gallon plastic containers.

Update on County Proposal to Change RV Parking Regulations

At the March AHCA meeting we discussed the County Staff's proposed changes to the RV Parking regulations.  The staff proposal would have allowed for larger RVs to park in residential driveways.  After discussion and a vote by the AHCA members, the Executive Board was charged with sending a letter to the County opposing the proposed changes and expressing concerns with the parking of any large vehicles in our neighborhood.
